Pictures of You

So… Beau spent the night on Friday. This is what we did on Saturday after we went to the mall…

There’s Nothing Left

On Wednesday Justin told me that he wasn’t going to be able to come with me to New Mexico. We’ve been planning this since December. He knew this was important to me. And he saved no money. So I’m not taking his shit excuses about things coming up recently. There wouldn’t be a problem if he had just started saving months ago… when we started planning.

I remember very clearly at Travis’ birthday party saying, “You can’t back out on me Justin. Promise me.” And he distinctly said, “I promise, I won’t.”

Well so much for that. I was very upset, and still am. There were a lot of angry tears. Like, a lot. More crying that I’ve done for a long long time. I even sent him an 8 page text explaining how upset I was later that night.

Justin let me down big time. He had told Travis right before me. And said he was, “tired of people depending on me.” Which is quite ironic. I get really upset with the way Justin let’s people use him. He gives too much of himself to people. They just take and take. Only interested in what they can get from him. So it’s no shock that he’s tired of it. Too bad he has to take it out on me; one of his few friends that don’t use him in some way. This is the only thing I’ve ever really asked Justin for. Other than going to prom with me. Where he was half asleep the whole night. He calls me his best friend, yet he doesn’t get (or make) me small (or any) birthday presents. And I don’t expect him to, because I know he’ll forget. Somehow he manages to buy everyone else things “just because.” And this doesn’t bother me much. I just except it. I love him anyway and move on without being too bothered. I don’t depend on Justin for anymore than being my friend. And this one, very important thing… he backs out. Yeah, I was depending on him. You would think after years of friendship I would be able to do that.

Prom 2009

So prom was kind of amazing. It was my favorite one fer sure. I had a great great great time. *Happy sigh* I think I’ll tell you about it.

But first I need to start this story from months ago… Beau Benko was being a difficult boy and refused to go to prom. I tried very hard for a very long time to get him to go. He wouldn’t budge. How lame. Anywho, Friday (the day before prom) I’m sitting in my third period listening to the announcements telling us that there are still bids left and you could buy them after school. Phoenix (who sits across from me) wasn’t going to prom and I asked her why not and it was pretty much just a lack of date. I told her she should go and she said, “Who would I go with?” And I promptly replied, “Beau!” Then we both talked about how Beau was a nice kid that she wouldn’t mind going to prom with. A few notes later and some serious convincing on my part she seemed onboard and told me she’d think about it. I saw Beau in the passing period right after that class and guilt tripped him into thinking about it. I wanted them to ask each other in fifth, but they saved that for after school. I am seriously proud of this. They had to pull there crap together the day before prom. I made this happen! And it was very challenging. You have no idea. It  doesn’t sound that bad, but they initially looked at me like I was crazy. (Look at how cute they are!)

I had my SAT Subject tests the morning of Prom. Meaning I had to wake up a six, drive to Beau’s house and then to Stockton. That was a lot of fun… not. Anywho, I got out of there at 11:25 and drove to the flower shop. I picked up Justin’s boutonniere and took it over to his house. I was only there for a second to drop it off. Then I had to hurry home to get ready. I got there around 1:30 and had a quick bite and then got right into the shower. I was rush rush rushing.

After my lovely shower (where I shouldn’t have experimented with shaving in the other direction,) I quickly got out and started blow drying my hair. I so did not have enough time to wait for it. After that I curled my hair and watched Spiderman 2, with some help from my mommy. My hair took like, a half an hour. I called Beau somewhere in there, and he was getting ready. Such a prompt boy. :] Then I went upstairs to get my dress and makeup on. That didn’t take too long. I did, however, forget to pack my stuff for overnight. Because I was staying at the Martin’s. So I had to throw some stuff in a bag. As I was running out the door in my favorite vans, my mom asked me if I had my heels.  I didn’t. I almost took prom pictures in my beat up scull vans. :] On the way there I had to call Justin and tell him I was going to be a few minutes late. But that wasn’t a really big deal. I think I got there are 4:45 when we had lightly agreed on 4:30.

So, putting on my heels is a huge pain. Like, seriously. They don’t like buckling very well. Anywho, with some help from my mom again, I got them on. Right after I got there, Phoenix and Beau did. They had been circling the neighborhood because they’re shy. Justin looked really really good in his tux, although I wish he would have gotten a hair cut like he promised he would… “no time” my ass. His mom even said that was bullshit. In those words. :] Travis look AMAZING in his tux. Like wow. Purple looks good on the boy. Ally looked nice, orange, but she worked it well. :] Phoenix and Beau looked really cute together. Especially for pulling it together in 24 hours. Props to them. Luis and Emily were there too. Sadly, they weren’t going prom. Luis went to get Gabby and Terry while the couples were blinded.

Picture time. So many cameras. I don’t think there is one picture of the six of us where we are all looking at the same camera. And if there was, it would have been a miracle. That went on and on. With everyone looking at us… I’ve done this for three years, you think I would be used to it by now. I’m not.

Then Travis and Ally left to go be with their group and Gabby and Terry came over to the Martin’s. We left pretty soon after they got there. Gabby, Terry, Justin, and me in Justin’s car and Phoenix and Beau in Phoenix’s car. We drove over to Shangri-La for dinner (same place as freshman year.) Corey, Ashley, Kayla, and Corey’s date, James. Anywho, we had a great time. Dinner traveled at a very slow pace. We got there at five, and prom didn’t start until eight. Justin and I caught up on each other’s lives. Phoenix and I learned more about each other. Beau and I smiled at each other. Terry was being funny, and everyone else was too far away to really talk to. Well, other than Corey. We shouted across the table about Harry Potter. :] Okay, the bathrooms at the restaurant were cool. You walk in, and then there are these two other private rooms. The sink is in the main “lobby” area of the bathroom though. I just wasn’t expecting rooms and not stalls. Gabby and Phoenix thought they were pretty cool too.

We had stayed at dinner for any hour and forty five minutes. After that, we decided that we were going to get ice cream at Coldstone. Which is about six or seven blocks away. I was in my heels from hell, and we were walking. There was a lot of bitching from me. Those things hurt like mother fuckers. Not even kidding. They’re was a lot, A LOT, of pain going on. But the ice cream was yummy. Once we had the ice cream, we sat on this cement bench. And Justin came to sit next to me, with Beau on the other side of him, and everyone else was standing in a semi-circle around us. Some people that we knew were around, and Justin got up to talk to them. When he got up, Beau called my name and pointed down to the bench in confusion. Where Justin had been sitting, there was now a butt shaped wet spot. Beau sat up to see if there was one under him; there wasn’t. And I checked under me, and there wasn’t. Then Beau, Phoenix, and I started cracking up. It was hilarious. Oh how I love Justin.

On the way back to the car, there was more bitching from me. :] This guy we passed on the street told us, “No unexpected pregnancies tonight.” Nothing like advice of the street. We decided that we were all going to meet at the dance next even though we still had a half an hour until it started. Justin had to go to the bank first, so Gabby, Terry, and I went on that adventure with him. Soon enough we were at the dance and sat around with the group minus Phoenix and Beau. For some reason they had gone to Target… I have no idea why, but they showed up ten minutes after we did. We were all breathalyzed and checked in. Our lot was the first into the ballroom. It was pretty great this year. A cool fake Eiffel Tower and a big sign that said “Bonjour.” The best part was the snack table. On the table there were two chocolate fountains. There were strawberries, bananas, marshmallows, and croissants to dip in the fountains. It was delicious. There were also nonalcoholic margaritas and pina coladas. The margaritas were soooo good. I love lime. I think I had ten throughout the whole night. :]

After hitting up the snack table for a good ten minutes, and chatting with people for the next twenty, we took our couple pictures. I wanted to stand on the other side of Justin. Because standing on his right doesn’t work well with my hair, making my face look fat, which makes my everything else look fat. *Sigh* I really dislike the picture, but whatever. Justin looks nice. Once the pictures were over, those shoes were off! Hells yeah. They left marks. And other people saw, I think they understood my bitching more then. :] The vans were on and I was ready to dance. But we only danced for a little bit and then it was group picture time. I wanted Trav to be in our group photo, but Ally wasn’t feelin it. It would have been awesome if he was though. We spent a good 15 minutes trying to come up with stuff we could do. Ever since T for Techno, we can’t make any gestures. It was lame, but I really liked the way the picture came out.

Then it was time for dancing. It was kind of amazing. I had a really good time. Justin was way super tired. So he slept on one of the couches for a half an hour. (See below.) But that was fine. I was still having a good time. Ally left around 10:30, kind of a bummer for Travis, but I got to have him for the rest of the night. That was fun. I love that kid. Oh, there is a picture of us dancing! I’m behind Phoenix. Gotta love the Electric Slide.

When we left, we went to Denny’s. That was buckets of fun. I was really hungry and ate a lot. Luis met us there, so he got to hang out. :] I wasn’t tired, and no one else really seemed to be either (Other than Justin, who was falling asleep talking to Ashley.) We stayed there until 1:30 ish, and it was sad when it was time to leave.

When Trav, Justin, and I got back to the Martin’s, Justin went straight to bed and Travis and I talked to his parents for awhile. That was nice. Trav and I stayed up a bit longer, but then went to bed. I got the Wall-E blanket. :] Apparently, some time throughout the night Travis was using me as a pillow. I don’t remember this, but I guess he does. *Shrugs* I like cuddles. :]

Daniel (Trav’s little brother) woke us up at 8:30 and told us it was time for breakfast. So Trav and I got up and ate. There was very little sleep, but that was okay. After that Travis and I watched Fail Blog videos. LMAO. Ken Lee and the Dance Fail. So good. Of course we had MySpace and FaceBook time. I had to put up the pictures I liked. :] Daniel kept going into Justin’s room and telling him to “Get your lazy up.” It was supposed to be “Lazy butt up.” Either way it worked. Trav and I then took a bunch of pictures of ourselves in the bathroom mirror. Fun times. Justin got up at like, 1:30, and I took pictures with him right after his shower.

Unfortunately, Travis started feeling really sick and threw up a bunch of times. Justin was leaving and Hailey came over. We stood outside for a while and talked in the street. So many cars decided that they were going to drive on that street even though it’s usually very quiet. I think they all just wanted to see Hailey in her bathrobe. That’s around the same time my parents came and picked me up. I said goodbye to everyone, and I was off.

Prom 2009 was excellent.
