Literature

The reason why this section is not called “Books” is because I read more than just books. I also read a great deal of fanfiction (don’t judge me.) This is so very hard to make a short list for, you have no idea. I read sooo many books. And they all are so different. Ugh, it’s like picking children.

Let’s start off with my favorite series of all time. This one is easy. Harry Potter. All seven of them beat out ANY other book. For me, no other book comes even close to a Harry Potter book. I love them so much, sometimes I worry I’ll never love a person this much. I hate ranking them, but this is how it goes: Goblet of Fire, Deathly Hallows, Half Blood Prince, Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban, Philosopher’s Stone, and Order of the Phoenix.

Even though I find most Twilight fans super annoying, I still love the series. Well, I kind hate hate hate Breaking Dawn, but whatevs. :] I first read Twilight back in early 2006. Not a lot of people knew about it then. I liked that better. Eclipse is my favorite, although nothing was like my first read of Twilight. I am a Jacob fan. Get over it.

The Gemma Doyle Trilogy is another favorite of mine. This one was a tough sell at the beginning, but I don’t like abandoning books. I’m glad I didn’t ditch a Great and Terrible Beauty because I happen to like the other two very much. The Sweet Far Thing kind of rocks my sock.

In A Handbasket by isawsparks is my favorite fanfic. Ever. It’s for the South of Nowhere fandom and is extremely AU. Spencer is and Ashley are older when they meet, in their mid-twenties. And it rips me up inside. I love it. Nothing like an angst-neck-ache to get me to love something.

I think I’m going to have to make a subcategory here. I really really love Skins fic. Well, mostly of I love femslash pairings written by Jengrrrl and Sivi. There are others, but they don’t make the Literature page. Sivi produced a long list of favorites for me. First and foremost there is Transatlanticism. I love that series so much. And it’s sequel Either/Or. I can’t pick which one I love more. Then there is Fate is Overgrown, Knives Don’t Have Your Back, and Slow Hands. Jen has some really great oneshots and short series, but my favorite is To Bedlam and Part Way Back. It’s awesome. I find Katie/Effy very compelling. Sadly, it’s still a WIP.

There are so many for me to name after this. I could go on and on forever, so I think it’s best I leave it at that. :]
